UP AND DOWN
This Up and Down signals (on the other side of the stairs) are hand painted tiles from the Aveiro ceramic factory "Fábrica da Fonte Nova" (1882 - 1937). The white tiles are most probably from the same factory.

OPTICAL ILLUSION
Private house, Braga. Are they cupping in or sticking out? Difficult to tell, although the first seems highly improbable. In any case the tactile nature of this wall is without question, and the colors are beautiful.

Private house, Braga. This is the last (for now) post on the wall tiles of Braga, from the 18th to the 2oth centuries. The geometric patterns are simple and the colors are bright.

TILED COLUMN
Casa de Santa Maria, Cascais. Reclaimed tiles and ceiling, and a room shape that is most bizarre. The house was done in two phases, so perhaps the architect was forced to adapt the new wing to the old. Or perhaps he just wanted to pretend like he had to. In any case, he had fun.
